This pretty wedding was set high up in the Colorado Mountains; a wedding venue that requires to gondola rides.  What I loved about it was the pretty little details very rustic yet elegant at the same time.  The theme of the little birds was done throughout and the flowers were so colorful and vibrant with the orange and greens.  The Groom’s family is French Canadian and so with a special touch all of the invitations and programs were printed in both english and french.  Part of their ceremony was also done in the French language.

This adorable couple have known each other since middle school and after a long deployment they are finally together and finally tying the knot! This sweet engagement session was done at the beautiful Retreat at Solterra!

From Talia Events … As I look back at notes I took during my first meeting with Anne, I wrote down the following—”natural to the degree that it’s comfortable, casual but classy with touches of charm and nostalgia” and a note with a star next to it that she really likes things that are pretty. The “pretty” for their big day was inspired by their home that’s filled with light, pale colors, touches of the rustic and distressed and lots of baskets and picture frames; her travels to France and their mutual travels around the country; and her love of flowers. Their trips and love of travel showed up understated ways—a suitcase for postcard love notes, tables named for favorite places and luggage tag-inspired escort cards. France was brought in through the ticking runners and the dessert bar filled with French and Italian sweets and a variety of patisserie and boulangerie signs. She framed old photos of family members as homage to her love of her family and of pictures and a nostalgic touch and wrapped glass votives in lace and buttons to accompany clusters of bottles filled with brightly colored flowers on the reception tables. As a personal thank you to their family and friends, each guest received a handmade cloth bag of treats tied with lace and a little thank you tag. In the end, it was certainly a wedding graced with love for each other and family and friends, nostalgia, and plenty of pretty!

Her Story about this cute couple and their session: My cousin Justin is so sweet he wrote will you marry me in the snow at a ski resort in red and as they were going up on the gondola Dana saw it and he dropped to one knee and had the ring. They wanted to do their engagement at Red Rocks and as we all know it is quite the location and what made it even better was Dana had never been to Red Rocks so it made it even more special. Justin and Dana will be tying the knot in Key Largo FL in November 2012

The story of this Colorado Bride & Groom:  We bought a bunch of flowers to make a bouquet and a red velvet cake from Safeway the morning of our wedding. On the way back to the ranch, we got a flat tire (in a place with spotty to no phone coverage), which normally would have ruined the entire day. We were able to just laugh at the whole thing. STORY: We originally met in 1992 on the US Junior National Cycling team, we were both national/world level track racers. We never kept in touch, but during the summer of 2009, my name popped up on Facebook as a recommended friend. Our first non-date date was a bike ride, and we\’ve been together ever since. Andy proposed on December 18th, after taking me out to dinner and having a friend decorate the kitchen with red tulips, rose petals and champagne. INSPIRATION: We wanted to be completely focused on each other, so we decided not to invite any guests. We also love the Colorado winters and the dark colors. The setting was perfect, Andy had a friend with some land near the resort with a park bench overlooking the valley, which was the perfect setting for the ceremony. ENJOYED: Planning was easy because we simply had to focus on each other and things that made us happy. DIY: DAY: We could not have had a better day. Weather was perfect, snow coverage perfect, photographers were perfect! LOVED: The fact that there was no schedule or time line and no distractions. We could focus on the meaningfulness of our commitment and each other, and save the planning and coordinating for a reception at a later date.
